The Counselling cell at Acharya focus on guided interaction to address the concerns of the student and faculties. Acharya Institutes offers counselling services to enhance students' social relationships, decision-making, and personal potential, as well as to support faculty in achieving work-life balance and fostering stronger ties with students and peers.
Objectives
Our student services focus on educational guidance, psychological support, behavioral improvement, and personal development to enhance academic success and improve mental health, well-being and social skills.
We support faculty members in gaining self-awareness regarding psychological, social, emotional, behavioral, and educational issues. We aim to foster mutual understanding among faculty, management, and students.
Referral system at Acharya
The institution's counselling services employ a four-part referral system. This system includes self-referral through personal appointments, referrals from faculty/proctors, parental referrals for their child, and peer referrals by students seeking psychological or emotional support. We address:
- Depression, hopelessness, suicidality, stress, burnout
- Anxiety disorders, panic disorders, mood disorders
- Anger issues, behavioural issues, decision making and goal setting issues
- Relationship issues, communication skills
- Absenteeism, academic concerns, procrastination and other self-defeating behaviours/ habits
- Trauma, abuse, low-self-esteem, body-image issues, substance abuse, addiction
- Home-sickness, eating disorders, sleep disturbance, Compulsive behaviours
- Issues of grief and loss
