Optometry

The Bachelor of Science in Optometry program at Acharya Institute of Allied Health Sciences is a comprehensive undergraduate course focusing on the study and application of vision care. Students undergo training in examining eyes, diagnosing and treating vision problems, and prescribing lenses and other vision therapies.

Program Overview

Duration : 4 Years including I year of Internship
Eligibility : Student must have obtained 50% aggregate in English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology in the higher secondary Examination that is equivalent to 10+2. Candidates who have completed their 2/3 years of diploma in optometry can take admission directly in the second year of B.Sc Optometry.

In addition to examining, diagnosing, treating, and managing diseases and disorders of the visual system, optometry is also known as vision therapy. Optometry is concerned with vision and eye care.

Among medical courses, optometry offers many satisfying career opportunities. There are unlimited opportunities to achieve money-related success and self-awareness in this dynamic and challenging career.

Upon completion of optometric studies, one may become an optometrist, an optician, an optometry researcher, a teacher or lecturer, a sales executive, etc. After completing a BSc Optometry degree, you can expect to earn between INR 2 lakh and INR 6 lakh per year.

This is a 4 year Programme, including 1 year of Internship. Candidates applying for the programme must have completed two year Pre-University examination or equivalent as recognized by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences with, Physics, Chemistry and Biology as principal subjects of study.
