BSc in Imaging Technology

BSc in Imaging Technology provides students with a plan of study in the area of advanced imaging. They produce high-quality medical images which help a medical specialist with the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of the patient. Medical imaging includes many different branches of imaging such as Computed tomography (CT), X-ray Imaging, Molecular Imaging, Mammography, Ultrasound Imaging, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Fluoroscopy and Radiography. Students of the programme are provided with hands-on training on the utilization of different imaging techniques. BSc Imaging technology scope is rising because of the dire need for professional technicians in the healthcare sector.

The module is designed to train students in physics related to radiology, radiographic and diagnostic imaging techniques, radiographic photography and image processing. Apart from these, students also study Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry. The proper balance of medical and technical aspects in the course content helps students to have a varied understanding of Medical Imaging.

Career Scope

BSc in Imaging Technology prepares students to join health care services with their expertise in the field of Medical Imaging. Graduates from this field acquire advanced theoretical and practical knowledge. The programme also helps graduates to stay updated with the advancement in the field of Imaging Technology.

With the recent advancements in healthcare technology, doctors/physicians rely heavily on medical imaging equipment to diagnose patients. Imaging technologists work in hospitals and diagnostic centers, and extend their practical expertise to other healthcare professionals. Imaging professionals work together with the healthcare team to ensure the proper diagnosis of patients.
