AIT Bags VTU Baseball Championship

Baseball team of Acharya Institute of Technology won the State-Level VTU Baseball Tournament held at the VTU Regional Office in Mysore on July 27, 2023.

They faced the finals against DBIT (Don Bosco Institute of Technology) and won against them with a score of 13-6 to lift the trophy. They beat colleges like PES, ATME and others in the impressive tournament.

At Acharya, we take great pride in fostering a culture of sportsmanship and physical activities, with abundant sports areas and facilities available on our campus. Our students' victory at the state-level championship is a testament to our commitment towards nurturing and encouraging sporting excellence.

Gold Medal received for Product Design Student

Principe Goyal, of Acharya’s B.Des Product Design programme, was awarded Gold Medal at the convocation ceremony of Bangalore City University on July 10th, 2023. The Department of Product Design at Acharya School of Design takes immense pleasure in celebrating the outstanding achievements of its students.

Ms Goyal has distinguished herself through her dedication, talent, and relentless pursuit of excellence. Her remarkable journey at the Acharya School of Design has been marked by the unwavering passion for design and innovative thinking. It is reflective of what we stand for and aim to uphold at Acharya School of Design.

She received well-deserved recognition amidst a gathering of esteemed faculty members, fellow students, and industry professionals. We congratulate Principe Goyal for her outstanding achievements and wish her continued success in her future endeavors.

Voluntary Blood Donation Camp

NSS Unit of Acharya & BM Reddy College of Pharmacy with the support of Women’s cell and in association with Lions Club of Bangalore, Modinagar, organized Voluntary Blood Donation Camp on 11th March 2023, in college premises.

Blood is the most significant gift of life that a person can give to others. Donated blood is always life saving for people who have lost a significant amount of blood due to various reasons like serious injuries, surgical procedures, medical conditions etc. Therefore, all-time availability of blood in blood banks has become a prime concern for society.

The objective of the Program was to motivate and maintain a permanent well-indexed record of voluntary blood donors, and to provide safe and quality blood and blood components collected from voluntary donors, round the clock, at affordable cost to the general public and free of cost to the poor.

Lions Club of Bangalore Modinagar and Lions Blood Bank headed by Mr. Kiran and Medical Officer Dr. Shreyas and his team were in charge of blood collection. A total of 122 samples were screened and 117 units were collected from donors.

Faculty and students across various departments of Acharya Institutes participated in the program along with 1st year B Pharm students who were the volunteers of the program.

CANCER-AWARENESS-PROGRAM
Cancer Awareness Program

The NSS Unit organized an awareness program on Cancer: Its Early Detection And Prevention for all the students and faculty members of Acharya Institute of Graduate Studies on 10th February, 2023.

The program was organized in association with SPARSH HOSPITAL, Yeshwanthpur, as part of World Cancer Day (4th Feb, 2023) observation. The awareness program was coordinated by Mr. George V T, NSS Program Officer, and the NSS team. Resource person, Mr. Vivek from SPARSH Hospital, coordinated this event. The chief guest and resource person for the session was Dr. Sushruta Mysore Shankar who is a Consultant, Breast & Surgical Oncology Department at SPARSH HOSPITAL, Yeshwanthpur.

The awareness session informed how early detection can enable better treatment outcomes. Dr. Sushruta spoke about Cancer, various types of cancer, and how it is manifested along with the causes. Dr Sushruta also spoke about ways to prevent it by adapting to a better lifestyle. A Q & A session after the session made the event fruitful and informative. Special importance was given to inform about commonly found breast cancer and cervical cancer, its self-examination for early detection among female students.

Acharya's Hands on India's First Successful Antibiotic molecule

Acharya's own, Dr. Maneesh Paul in his earlier job at Orchid Pharma co-invented the first ever antibiotic molecule (Enmetazobactam) from the Indian soil that successfully completed Phase 3 clinical trials. Dr. Maneesh Paul, Director of Research and Development, Acharya Institutes, led the discovery program from the invention -to- clinical delivery of this antibiotic molecule that helps treat complicated urinary tract infections. This journey took him and his team at Orchid Pharma 11 years.

Mr. Sandeep M from the Department of Mechatronics Engineering, Acharya Institute of technology has secured First place in RC plane competition at UDAAN's, National Level Aerospace Competition. Mr. Sandeep M secured First place, by excelling in performing maximum number of precise maneuvers in 2 minutes. With Mechatronics students showing their caliber in drone technology across India, Acharya's Mechatronics Department is strengthening its reputation as one of the topmost in the country

L 4 Gold medals amongst 25 ranks under VTU for Acharya Institute of Technology. Students from B.E and M.Tech Programme secured top honours in the university level exam making this the highest yielding year in terms of academic achievement for the institution. The College also became the only private institution under VTU in Bengaluru to receive a rank in MBA. The gold medals were in the departments of Automobile, Construction Technology and Management, Mining, Manufacturing Science and Engineering.
