The Acharya Alumni Awards recognize exceptional achievements and contributions made by our alumni in various fields. Nominations can be self-nominated or recommended by friends, colleagues, or professors. Each nomination will be evaluated based on the following rubrics:

🔹 General Rubrics (Applicable to All Categories)

Each nomination will be scored on a 5-point scale (1 = Low, 5 = Exceptional) based on the following :

  • Impact & Contribution (30%)
    • Extent of influence on society, industry, or academia.
    • Positive change and long-term contributions in the respective field.
  • Innovation & Excellence (25%)
    • Originality and creativity in work, research, or leadership.
    • Evidence of groundbreaking ideas, new methodologies, or solutions.

Terms & Conditions – Acharya Alumni Achievement Awards 2025

The Acharya Alumni Achievement Awards 2025 aim to honour distinguished alumni for their exceptional contributions across various fields. To ensure a fair and transparent selection process, the following terms and conditions apply:

Eligibility Criteria

  • Alumni Status: Nominees must be graduates of Acharya Institutes.
  • Self or Recommended Nomination: Nominations can be submitted by the alumni themselves, faculty members, peers, or industry professionals.
  • Relevant Achievements: The nominee’s achievements must be aligned with the selected award category and should demonstrate a significant contribution to their profession, society, or innovation.
  • Compliance with Ethical Standards: Nominees must uphold the values of Acharya Institutes and maintain an excellent professional and personal reputation.

Nomination & Submission Guidelines

  • Submission Deadline: All nominations must be submitted on or before 5th April 2025. Late entries will not be considered.
  • Supporting Documents: Nominees must provide evidence of achievements, such as awards, publications, media coverage, patents, or testimonials.
  • Accurate Information: Any false or misleading information in the nomination will result in immediate disqualification.
  • Multiple Nominations: An individual can be nominated for multiple award categories, but only one award will be granted per nominee.

Selection Process

  • Evaluation Committee: A panel of experts, including faculty, industry professionals, and alumni representatives, will evaluate the nominations.
  • Assessment Criteria: Nominees will be scored based on impact, innovation, leadership, recognition, and contributions as per the official rubrics.
  • Shortlisting: Shortlisted candidates may be required to provide additional information or attend an interview (if necessary).
  • Final Decision: The final selection of awardees will be at the discretion of the Acharya Alumni Association and Selection Committee, and their decision will be final and binding.

General Terms

  • Confidentiality: All nominations and deliberations will be kept confidential.
  • Award Recognition: Awardees will be honoured at the Acharya Alumni Meet 2025 and featured in official publications.
  • No Monetary Compensation: The awards are honorary and do not include any financial benefits.
  • Right to Withdraw: The committee reserves the right to withdraw or reassign an award if any discrepancies or ethical concerns arise post-selection.

Objectives of the Program

  • Reconnect former students and foster a sense of camaraderie and nostalgia through a shared passion for cricket.
  • Encourage a healthy and active lifestyle while instilling teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among participants.
  • Generate funds for scholarships, infrastructure improvements, or other initiatives benefiting the alma mater.
  • Reinforce alumni engagement with the institution, encouraging continued support for events, mentorship programs, and future initiatives.

Cricket Match Guidelines (8-Over Tennis Ball Format)

1. Match Format

  • Each match will be played with 8 overs per innings.
  • Each team must field 11 players (Playing XI).

2. Bowling Restrictions

  • Bowling format: 2-2-2-1-1 (5 bowlers compulsory to be bowled)
  • Two bowlers can bowl a maximum of 2 overs each.
  • Two bowlers can bowl a maximum of 1 over each.
  • A bowler cannot exceed their allotted overs.

3. Powerplay Rules

  • The first 3 overs of each innings will be the Powerplay.
  • During Powerplay:
    • Only 2 fielders are allowed outside the 30-yard circle.
  • After Powerplay:
    • A maximum of 5 fielders can be outside the 30-yard circle.

4. Batting & Fielding Restrictions

  • Each team must have a proper batting order; changes mid-match are not allowed unless due to injury.
  • The fielding team must have a minimum of 4 players inside the 30-yard circle after the powerplay.

5. Attire & Equipment Rules

  • Wearing sports shoes is compulsory for all players.
  • A uniform dress code is mandatory for all teams.
  • No metal spikes or bare feet are allowed while playing.

6. Umpire’s Decision

  • The decision of the umpires is final and binding.
  • Any argument with the umpire may result in penalty runs or disqualification.

7. No-Ball & Wide Ball Rules

  • Overstepping the crease (front foot no-ball) results in a free hit.
  • Height no-ball: Any ball above the batsman’s waist (full toss) = No-Ball.
  • Wide ball: Any ball outside the wide guidelines = Wide.
  • Two bouncers per over are allowed; the third will be a no-ball.

8. Match Conduct & Discipline

  • Players must maintain sportsman spirit and avoid sledging or abusive behavior.
  • Any misconduct may lead to suspension from the game or the tournament.

9. Tie-Breaker Rule

  • In case of a tie, a Super Over will decide the winner.
  • If the Super Over is also tied:
    • The team with the most boundaries (fours + sixes) will be declared the winner.

10. Rain or Interruption Rule

  • If rain interrupts the game:
    • Match officials will decide revised overs and target using the DLS method or a mutually agreed rule.

11. Player Eligibility & Substitutes

  • A team must have a minimum of 8 players present at the toss to start the match.
  • Only one substitute fielder is allowed; substitutes cannot bat or bowl.

12. Other General Rules

  • The match will be played with a tennis ball (Vicky Yellow Ball).
  • Matches will be played on hard ground or turf (as per the venue).
  • The toss-winning captain must decide batting or fielding within 2 minutes.
