Shri. B.M. Reddy, President, Acharya Institutes and Mr. Himanshu Goyal, Country Manager, IBM signed a
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Acharya Institute of Technology and IBM India Private Ltd on 23rd May 2009 in
Acharya Campus for providing training through IBM SOFTWARE CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE [IBM-CoE] for Acharyans.
IBM is one of the world class IT company, whose software products and services are widely used in almost all the companies
in the world. IBM collaboration with Acharya Institute of Technology will immensely benefit Acharyans to get exposure and
obtain expert certifications in the latest On-Demand technologies.
Acharya-IBM Entrepreneur Incubation Center (EIC)
Acharya-IBM Entrepreneur Incubation Center [ EIC] is a joint venture between IBM and Acharya Institutes in bringing together entrepreneurs, investors and IBM's experienced mentors, who are focused to incubate their venture for making the world better with innovative ideas. Acharya-IBM EIC, a part of IBM Global Entrepreneur initiative, helps innovative entrepreneurs build their businesses around the smarter planet to reap market opportunity. By leveraging the benefits of IBM Global Entrepreneur, new entrepreneurs can gain access to no-charge IBM software, technical enablement resources, mentoring, angel investors, patent rights, credibility and validation for their solutions. This is the first collaboration of its kind in India, launched at Acharya Campus to inculcate the culture of entrepreneurship and research among the Acharyans. This Entrepreneur Incubation Center will serve to incubate new product developments and promote new entrepreneurs, which is the need of the hour for employment generation. Shri. B. Premnath Reddy, Chairman, Acharya Institues, Shri. Ashok Kumar C. Manoli, Principal Secretary, IT, BT & ST, Government of Karnataka, Shri. Pradeep Nair, Director, Software Group, IBM India Pvt. Ltd., Dr. Balaveera Reddy, Former Vice-Chancellor, VTU, inaugurated the center by lighting the lamp on 25th Oct 2010.
IBM-CoE conducted a training from 12th to 14th March 2012 on RAD (Rapid Application Developement). RAD is a quick and comprehensive Java based web development IDE from the IBM stable. RAD is used widely across most IT-service providing companies. Students with certification in RAD will be benefitted from having wider opportunities for suitable placements across the IT Industry. RAD Training Session was conducted in Acharya Campus by Prof. Manish Kumar Thakur and Prof. Anitha K.L., Dept. of MCA, AcIT. About 45 students from undergraduate and postgraduate registered for the training and 43 students got RAD-Certification.
IBM-CoE conducted a training from 26th to 29th March, 2012 on RAD (Rapid Application Developer). IBM Lotus Notes is the client of a collaborative client-server platform. IBM Lotus Domino is the application server. Students with certification in LOTUS Notes will be benefitted from having wider opportunities for suitable placements across the IT Industry. LOTUS Notes Training Session was conducted in Acharya Campus by Mr. Kunal Bhagat, WebTek Labs Pvt. Ltd. . About 108 students from undergraduate and postgraduate registered for the training and 98 students got LOTUS-Certification.
IBM-CoE conducted a training from 2nd to 4th November 2012 on Tivoli. Tivoli is the service management brand of the IBM Software Group. IBM has produced Tivoli, which is a computer software whose function and purpose is to facilitate and be an intelligent infrastructure management solution provider that seeks to help consumers understand and proactively manage the business value of their IT systems in and on demand world. It is very useful for students to understand the overall software management. RAD Training Session was conducted in Acharya Campus by Mr. Ritwiz Choubisa, WebTek Labs Pvt. Ltd. . About 99 students from undergraduate and postgraduate registered for the training and 90 students got Tivoli-Certification.
IBM-CoE conducted a training from 29th August to 1st September 2012 on DB2. IBM DB2 is a relational model database server developed by IBM. DB2 is used by several IT companies in the world. It is one of the most secured database. DB2 Training Session was conducted in Acharya Campus byProf. Indumathi and Prof. Shashikanth Reddy, Dept. of MCA, AcIT. About 125 students from undergraduate and postgraduate registered for the training and 110 students got DB2-Certification.
IBM-CoE conducted a TGMC (The Great MInd Challenge) workshop on 4th November 2012 for the students who have registered for TGMC projects. by Mr. Chinmoy, WebTek Labs Pvt. Ltd. TGMC is an innovative program aimed at encouraging students from engineering colleges from across India in their endeavor to develop solutions for real-time problems and scenarios using IBM & Open Source Software. It is India's largest student technology contest, two years running in the Limca Book of Records!
IBM-CoE conducted a TGMC (The Great MInd Challenge) talk on 22nd October 2012 for the students who have registered for TGMC projects. Mr. Sachin kumar R S, IBM Academic Initiative, IBM India Pvt. Ltd. addressed Acharyans giving the details related to "TGMC PROJECTS" and motivating the students to take up TGMC-2011 projects. Participation in the contest gives students the excitement of working on real-life solutions, with FREE IBM software's to choose from and work with. Students also have the opportunity to seek for any technical help while working on their project by us.
