Acharya Institute of Technology

About Us

The Sanskrit word "Acharya” /a:ˈtʃɑːrɪə/, which means “ a prominent religious teacher and a spiritual guide”, epitomizes the quintessential values of our institution, where traditional respect for teachers is of paramount importance.

Acharya’s NRV School of Architecture was founded in 2009 as an independent Architecture College. Though Acharya’s NRV School of Architecture is just about seven years old, it has grown in reputation to be one of the premier institutions imparting Architectural education in Bangalore. This phenomenal growth can be attributed to the passion with which the institution has been nurtured by the Chairman of Acharya Group. It is nestled in its own landscaped building within the 120 acre Acharya Campus. The Architect designed Campus with its aesthetically appealing buildings set in sylvan surroundings acts as an inspiration for students who wish to pursue Architecture as a career.

As Mahatma Gandhi quotes “What is really needed to make democracy function is not knowledge of facts, but right education”, Acharya’s NRV School of Architecture has been giving equal priority to every individual.

Our Motto

"Nurturing Aspirations Supporting Growth"

Our Vision

"WE IN “Acharya NRV School of Architecture” BELIEVE THAT The essence of Architectural Education is to train the students to design the Built-environment to be in harmony with the natural environment. We ensure that they are responsible citizens and strive towards the preservation of Bio-diversity and heritage. We make sure that they are eco-conscious and strive towards maintaining the eco – balance and conservation of energy in all our design endeavours and strive towards the goal of sustainable and inclusive development through use of Cost effective and eco-friendly building technology. We strive towards the all round growth of the students in terms of their social awareness, design capability and sensitivity to nature and the eco-system."

Our Mission

"Our mission is to provide an educational environment where students can reach their full potential and become responsible citizens, to provide a scholarly environment where the talents of both, the faculty members and students are nurtured for the benefit of the society. We enable students to free themselves from the stereotyped ways of looking at things; instead constantly question and challenge themselves, society and the world at large. We believe in the paradigm of "Learning by Doing" . Students are encouraged to learn various aspects of Architecture by interacting with professionals in the field and engaging themselves in putting up pilot projects with the help of the various trades associated with the building industry. In keeping with our Motto of "Think Globally: act locally" , we intend to have a healthy interaction with Architecture Schools in the West."

My long term vision for this Institution is to make it a premier Institution not only for undergraduate education but also to introduce masters level programs in hitherto untouched areas of Architecture which have great potential like Industrial Architecture, Infrastructure planning and management etc., possibly with German collaboration. I wish to model this Institution on the German mode of learning, which essentially boils down to "Learning by doing and experiencing" rather than learning by rote. Towards this end I have sought the collaboration of my erstwhile colleagues and fellow academicians at the University of Stuttgart, of which I am an Alumnus. In principle, they have pledged their co-operation and in due course, our students, we will have more of these collaborations at the level of Student-Faculty exchange programmes, collaboration in designing and executing pilot projects, etc.
